Pure fascination

Let's see what the true fascination with art looks like. Melissa La Bozzetta, an Australian painter with Italian roots, who creates both on canvas and on the female body. Her work is a real show of enthusiasm for art. Or maybe something more...

Melissa La Bozzetta

"The one thing that I have that nobody else has is me, my voice, my mind, my story, my vision. So I write and draw and build and play and dance and live only as I can." - Melissa about herself.

Let's take a look at some of her "The Naked Canvas" projects. Here is the "Shades of Sian" session. Model covered with gold flakes and paint. Photos by Visual Soda.

La Bozzetta's works have been presented at exhibitions in the USA, Europe and, of course, Australia. Also in the form of a performance. At first glance, there's nothing here that the readers of Private Deviations haven't seen before: a successful sexy bodypainting. But the way the artist (and the photographers) present the finished works, and what goes on behind the scenes, reveals a higher level of the artist-model relationship. La Bozzetta is direct. She does not discreetly hide nudity under the guise of art, but rather brings it to the fore.

Quote from her website: "Melissa brings character, honesty and a vibrant new approach to presenting her artwork and ideas. This moves on from a somewhat restrained version of her past self. Held back by a strong connection to family and accountability to her Italian roots, the present day Melissa La Bozzetta is breaking new ground. With a consistent drive to share her creative and sensual self, Melissa breaks from these traditional restraints to find comfort in her art and in life. She produces from what she sees, feels and is inspired by. Each of Melissa's art works is an infusion of worldly demeanor, open sexuality and a passion to engage, share and contribute with the world around her. This creates a persona that is her art."

And finally "Layers of the Nude Age". Model April Hart naked and covered in clay poses for photos by Chris Smith.

The artist's social media show that the aforementioned "open sexuality" is not groundless. For her, the female body is far more than just an artistic material. And it's not only about her own works, but also about the photos she shares: beautiful, half-naked and naked women in various shots and frames. I don't think it would be an exaggeration to say, that for La Bozzetta a woman is a source of genuine enthusiasm and fascination. She just loves women, however it sounds.

This is of course a subjective impression, but I did not expect such an erotic fascination from a female artist. I'm guessing that in the case of male artists, it would probably be perceived as something typical, maybe even smacking of erotomania or unprofessionalism. But here it has a different connotation. The artist knows what emotions women's shapes evoke in the recipient, she feels these emotions herself and does not hide it at all. Maybe it's just me, but those works are better understood when you know that their creator is a woman. Of the kind that women turn on. And that's good. Her pleasure to create, reflects into our pleasure to watch. And from the point of view of the erotic connoisseur, the fact that one attractive woman explores the nudity of other women is especially exciting. Again, there is a gender difference - if a man did it, it would be somehow "standard", when a woman does it, everything takes on an extra spice.

Unless you see it differently?
