Art of body and paint
Gregory Beylerian - born in the New York City, based in Los Angeles, multi disciplinary artist with connection to Italy and Buddhist masters. He uses variety of mediums in his works - his domain is painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, poetry, sound and photography. On his website we can read: "His work crosses over many markets and genres, from solo and group gallery exhibitions, commissions, advertising, design, books and branding campaigns to large scale mural projects."
His portfolio consists of many interesting and award-winning pieces, but for us the most appealing are those created with female body and paint. Those artworks mainly come from BodyWorks and Divine Curvature series. Naked models are painted in mix of different colors, often in what appears to be a very random, chaotic or even messy way. There is no one pattern: It happens that the artwork seems to be completed just when model smears the paint alongside her body or leave the paint stains on the floor. Or already painted woman is decorated with pieces of fabric attached to her body or entangled in cloth or net. On some photos models appears to be just rolling in paint split on the ground. Or all that in one.
Sometimes artist covers model in one color, making her a canvas for another, more sophisticated painting applied to her body. This idea you can see on a video below, where the white marks are done on a black base.
Curiosity: Music in this video wasn't chosen at random. It is played by Beylerian's band.
Gregory Beylerian often shares photos and footage from behind the scenes of his studio. This gives us view on the way his pieces of art are created. Very artistic. Very inspiring. Very erotic.
