Many months of bodypainting

In this recent invasion of routine "ten-pictures-only posts", let's look at works of photographer and bodypainter Lothar Poetzl. Probably many of you have seen his brilliant galleries, as he's active in body art for many years. Based in Thuringian city of Gera, Germany; he practises in shooting portraits, fashion, lingerie, nudes but above all - turning naked women into living paintings. His portfolio includes many really interesting pictures containing tasteful artistic view on female nudity.

Models are used to be shoot naked, often frontally, but the way the paintings are arranged on their bodies makes the girls somehow dressed, sometimes arranged with the environment or even blending in it. Here it is a norm that design of the painting and model's makeover corresponds with the background this way or another - not only in studio shoots but also outdoor, where Poetzl paints his models to resemble natural parts of the surrounding landscape: girls are turned into metallic or stone statues, flowers, plants or parts of larger wall decoration. Some paintings may even resemble nothing but rough scrawlings, but closer look gives the certitude that every dash of brush on model's body was deliberate.

Lothar Poetzl also uses his living paintings as a motifs for calendars. Each month in a year has it's page, with one large picure on it. His website displays only editions from 2016 to now, but as far as I can remember he started to issue them few years earlier (tell if I'm wrong).

So... Lets see how the years passed in Lothar Poetzl's calendars. Here in this post you can see the random outtakes from 2016 to 2020 editions:
