Paint, sweat and... tears?

Recently I found some pictures of living statue. By living statue I mean real, immobilized person, not (with all respect) those street artists, who paint themselves and stands still to fun the tourist.  In this case it was something... different: nude woman, covered with paint and a gooey substance up to her waist, was standing still in gallery-like surrounding, probably on public display...

I haven't seen these particular pictures before, but I recognized what it is at first look. This photos were taken during performance of Polish artist Marek Sulek, who among other things, specialized in creation of disposable "one-time" statues, made of female body, paint and plaster. He painted nude model head to toe (always in shades of blue), fixed her pose and then put a wet plaster on her body, smearing it in the way to cover her most intimate parts. The spectators may admire model literally turned into ornament.

On the first photograph, you can see a picture in the background, hanging on the wall. It shows another living statue, created some time earlier:

Apparently, images are from 2003 performance, which took place in Nydai Gallery in New York.

I like those pics, especially the close ups. One can see the wet lines scattered down the model's body... Of course - wet paint, one would say. Or maybe sweat caused by the heat of drying plaster and studio lighting... But don't know why, my first thought was: tears - tears of model who gave her body to become object of art, painted, encased in some hard shell and helplessly exposed to the eyes of strangers... Some kind of artistic suffering...  Oh... I'm just overthinking...
